Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

From the Crown & Buckle family to yours: Happy Thanksgiving!

One of our Thanksgiving traditions is to set up our Christmas tree (after eating, of course!) and decorate the house. Whatever your holiday traditions are, we hope that you are able to spend it with loved ones and count your blessings. We have so much to be thankful for.

Introducing: Chevron Single Pass

Introducing: Chevron Single Pass

Crown & Buckle's exclusive Chevron straps are a game changer. There is nothing on the retail market quite like them. A hybrid between Perlon and NATO straps, Chevron straps are adjustable length, single-pass nylon straps. Key features include a unique alternating nylon weave, precise ultrasonic sizing holes, a fully stitched tip, and 316L hardware finished to a high degree.

Unique nylon weave: Each strap's base color has two alternating threads that are slightly contrasted for depth. The two threads are woven at differing height and thickness, creating a three dimensional, diagonal effect in the weave. For the colorways with a center stripe, the stripe is woven with thicker thread and in a straight vertical pattern. The colored stripe thus further stands out from the main diagonal weave. The nylon is finished with precision: five ultrasonically cut & sealed sizing holes hold up to wear, and the fully stitched end tip prevents fraying (one of the toughest steps of production!).

Killer hardware: The angular keepers are inspired by our Supreme NATOs, now 0.3mm wider and with new height specs tailored for a single layer strap. The adjustable ladder buckle and tongue is CNC machined from solid 316L SS. The buckle has a natural curvature for comfortable wear. The Brushed hardware option has brushed top surfaces, with high-polished sides and facets. The Polished hardware option has high-polished top surfaces, and matte brushed sides and facets. This is a subtle detail, the high degree of finishing on each piece of metal is really a sight to behold!

Utmost comfort: As an adjustable single-pass strap, the Chevron wears wonderfully. Being a one-piece strap, it offers protection against the watch falling if one spring bar fails. However, it does not raise the watch off the wrist as much as a NATO strap, and the buckle is centered underneath your wrist. With the length adjusted perfectly via the ladder buckle, there is no bulky strap "tail" to fold backwards or deal with. Simply tuck the end of the strap into the sliding keeper, and enjoy your Chevron strap.

Play Off The Details

Play Off The Details

An easy way to add variation within a small watch collection is to play off the details on the dial. Choosing straps with new colors, patterns, or textures will help maximize the personality of your watch. Our Crimson Perlon is fun and comfortable to wear, and it nicely matches the red hands on the Farer Hopewell it's paired with.

#Straps4ACure - First Donation

The return of #Straps4ACure has been a huge success so far. Today we made our first donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in the amount of $3,500! Our goal is to raise over $20,000 for breast cancer research. We are donating 50% of every strap sold.

Support the cause during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Heavy Duty NATO

Heavy Duty NATO

Heavy Duty [HD] NATOs are similar, yet very different from our Standard and Premium collections. A lot of the color choices are the same, but there are two key differences versus the rest of our NATOs: the hardware and the nylon.

HDs have heftier, oval-shaped hardware, and are crafted with an extra-heavy nylon weave that ultimately makes the strap thicker, stiffer, and stronger. HDs are great if you like having a pronounced setting for your watch or prefer a bulkier feel. If you typically gravitate towards a heavier or larger watch, try pairing it with one of our 3-ring (single layer) or 5-ring (double layer) HD NATOs!

Surviving The Heat

Surviving The Heat

Survive the oppressive heat with a NATO strap on your watch. The nylon fabric is comfortable, durable, and waterproof. With 13 sizing holes, you can find the perfect fit when your arm swells and sweats. The waterproof nylon is up for any pool or beach activities, and can be washed with soapy water after a sweaty, sun-screen-y day.

Mix it up with some fun color combinations, and you'll be prepared to take it straight from the beach to the evening BBQ this summer.

Leather NATOs Return

Leather NATOs Return

After years of planning, we have finally produced a consistent supply of leather NATOs. This collection will be available year-round, and we plan on expanding the color options.

For this collection, we chose robust bridle leather (veg tanned cow) that is durable, strong, and virtually stretch-free. What you can expect is a strap that starts a little bit stiff, but will break-in beautifully, and last you a long time. It will darken and patina with age. It will mold to your wrist, and hold its form where you fold it into the keepers. These straps are the real deal, folks.

Available in 5 leather colors and 2 hardware finishes, we're sure you'll find a strap fitting of your favorite timepiece.

Glace Latigo

Glace Latigo

Our Glace Latigo leather comes straight from the windy city, specifically chosen off of the racks at Horween Leather Co. The deep "money green" leather has an attractive pebbled texture. This is a strong and durable leather, with no stretch. Glace Latigo comes in both brushed and PVD hardware, and can be found here.

Single Layer NATOs

Single Layer NATOs

We’ve been getting a lot of questions about the “single layer” option available for some of our NATO straps. The single layer version is simply a normal NATO strap with the second layer of nylon [under the watch head] removed. This makes the strap wear noticeably slimmer and closer to the wrist, which is especially nice for those of us with wrists under 7”. Removing this layer does not remove the protection of keeping the watch attached if one spring bar fails. That safety net is provided by the top layer that passes through the spring bars, not this secondary layer that is removed.

Single layer is available as a selectable option on our web site before you add a Supreme NATO or Leather NATO strap to your cart. If you are unsure, and want to try the strap as a normal double-layer NATO first, it’s easy to modify the strap yourself at home. Just check out the How-To section on our website.

In the photo above, the left two straps are the single layer version, and the right two straps are the "regular" two layer, traditional NATO version (which is the default, unless you select the singe option).
