We recently received this glowing testimonial of our new Defense NATO strap (particularly, the Admiralty Grey version), and we wanted to share it in it's entirety. Thanks for sending it in, John!

Hey Crown and Buckle,

I normally never send feedback however I feel I need to. Your Defence NATO - Admiralty MOD is fantastic.  Congratulations, well done.

I recently purchased a classic dive watch and wanted to match it to the original grey NATO issued by the British MOD. So I bought….
- An original phoenix admiralty grey from UK as a reference point. (Last of his stock on eBay, silly high price)
- your version
- a Cabot watch company version apparently still supplying the MOD
- a couple of Australian online strap company versions as much less postage
- the random grey NATO thrown in with my watch purchase

Yours is exactly what you said. Basically the same as the phoenix in all the important areas with subtle changes. The others miss by a mile in colour, strap texture.

Why your strap is so good:
- Communication. you’ve thought about it from the perspective of the customer and put all the detail down. What the original is, link to historical research, what you’ve kept the same, what you’ve changed and why. It is amazingly respectful and honest to the customer and also to the original supplier. No BS.
- you’ve delivered what you said! When I compare it to the Phoenix the colour is spot on and so is the type of material. I want it as close to OG as possible and you’ve done that.
- the improvements / variations are subtle and clever and keep strap basically identical to Phoenix for all intents and purposes.
- realistic price. Quick postage.  Everything takes ages and costs a lot to get to Australia.
- high quality.

It is a rare thing to find a company that clearly defines what it is doing and then delivers.

I’ll pass on to watch mates to go to you guys first.

Thanks for a great NATO.

Cheers

John

Left to right: Crown & Buckle Admiralty Defence NATO, original Phoenix Admiralty MoD NATO, unknown, CWC's current MoD offering, unknown, unknown.

John sent in this photo to illustrate his journey to find the closest to "the original" Phoenix that he got off of eBay. The other four straps aim to be Admiralty Grey, but fall quite short as you can see!
