A Legend Reborn
Nylon military watch straps have a deep-rooted history. The first reference to what we now know as a NATO strap appeared in the 1968 British Ministry of Defence (MoD) specification 66-4 as "Strap, Wrist Watch - Nylon." Phoenix Straps Limited quietly supplied the MoD with these rugged, no-nonsense straps for decades, earning a legendary reputation among collectors and enthusiasts.
When Phoenix announced its forthcoming closure in 2023, we saw an opportunity to follow in its footsteps while making subtle refinements to improve the strap's wearability and performance.
