In 2018 we launched the Supreme NATO -- our answer to the expensive luxury nylon straps from Swiss watch brands. The perfect balance of quality and price, Supreme NATOs represent the value you have come to expect from Crown & Buckle. However, we knew the ultra-modern look of the shiny, densely woven nylon wasn't for everybody. Enter Matte Supreme.
We worked with our nylon factory to produce a brand new nylon weave, utilizing flat/matte nylon thread. The result is a distinct look, notably missing the sheen typical of 'seatbelt style' nylon (à la the original Supreme NATOs). From our Chevron™ line, we've carried over the stitching on the tip of the strap for increased fray resistance (and great looks!). The nylon is cut with a state of the art ultrasonic machine, leaving perfectly sealed sizing holes that have no irritating bumps or burrs.
Supreme does not end with its nylon: the hardware is also a step above. The 316L stainless steel keepers feature machined beveled corners, and a flat profile, giving them a more angular and rugged look. The buckle is finished to a high degree, featuring a CNC machined solid tongue (versus folded flat stock), and is perfectly proportioned: not too large, but not too slim either. All of the hardware features a uniform brushed satin finish. Each strap is carefully assembled by ultrasonically fusing the nylon, and then stitching it together with strong nylon thread.
