The wait is nearly over. Crown & Buckle American Made returns on Tuesday, March 14th, 2017.
Introduced in 2014, our American Made line was the realization of a dream dating back to C&B's start in 2011. From the very beginning, we knew that we wanted to manufacture straps ourselves, but we didn't have the resources or knowledge to do so early on. Our first foray into American Made came in 2013 with our Logan Zane collaborations. Yet, we still longed to produce the straps ourselves. We began working on that very goal in late 2013, and in September 2014 we proudly launched our first collection of straps.
Since the initial launch, we've been continually blown away by the demand. At times, it was hard for us to keep up. That became most apparent in early 2016, when we were gearing up for the launch of Black Label. Much of our American Made line was sold out, and with our limited in-house production capacity, we kept falling further behind. In July 2016, we made the tough decision to hit the pause button, and rebuild from the ground up.
Our main goal for the rebuild was increased production capacity and efficiency. In order to achieve this, we evaluated every step of the process, from purchasing the leather to sewing the straps. We sourced new and better leathers (while retaining the staples!). Our strap patterns were tweaked to perfection. The sewing process was streamlined. Our network of craftsmen and craftswomen working on our straps increased significantly.
The end result of our efforts are twofold. Our products are higher quality, in both materials and craftsmanship, and we now have a better capacity to keep up with demand. We think it was worth the time and effort, and we can't wait for you to see the results.
