Have you ever been curious to know the story of how Crown & Buckle came to be? Thomas Lathrop, C&B's founder, recently sat down for a heart-to-heart with Nick from Watch Patina. What was documented is not a history of watch straps, or a review of our products. It's simply a look at what lead Thomas down this path and how Crown & Buckle got its start.
The article is an enjoyable read of a story that up until this point was largely untold. You'll find it interesting if you are new to our brand, and even more so if you are a long-time supporter. Click here to read.
Thanks go out to Nick from Watch Patina for the honor of featuring Thomas and C&B, and to Neil Watson of A&H Magazine for the photo of Thomas on this page.
2015 was a big year for Crown & Buckle. Our American Made strap collection grew and continued to be well received. We had some awesome collaborations with brands like Oak & Oscar, Martenero, Autodromo, and analog/shift. The #Straps4ACure project was a runaway success, raising more than $15,000 (and counting) for breast cancer research. We introduced many new styles, and phased out some old ones.
There were trials and tribulations. We had some stumbles with inventory lead times and production. There was web site down time and tech issues along the way. Logistics, personnel, competition, legal issues, and finances made scaling and growth a challenge for our small business.
Through it all we learned, grew, and tried new things. In the end we came out stronger and wiser. For 2016, we have some exciting projects that we have been working hard on, which we cannot wait to share soon. Ultimately only God knows what 2016 will have in store for us, and we can't wait to see what new blessings lay ahead.
Thank you for being a part of this great #watchfam community and supporting what we do here at C&B. We wish you a safe, happy, and successful 2016.
Worn & Wound just published a great recap of the recent Wind Up affordable watch fair, which Crown & Buckle was proud to sponsor and exhibit at. The show was a smashing success by all accounts, with over 3,000 visitors coming by throughout the weekend. For an extensive collection of photos and a well-produced video, check out Worn & Wound's full post.
